Composite Wood Is Ideal For Bathrooms

Home & Garden Blog

Just about every homeowner has a list of upgrades they would like to make into their home. Unfortunately, they usually can't afford to make all of these renovations at once. If you are trying to cut the cost of your home upgrades, and still get a good return on your investment, you should consider doing some work in your bathrooms. Bathroom upgrades are always cost-effective because the cost of materials is minimal since the rooms are usually smaller, and the bathrooms are important rooms when it comes to the valuation of your property. On top of this, bathrooms are often the most worn out and aged rooms in a home because they get used so often.

The floor is one of the best places to start when it comes to the bathroom. This article looks at why hardwood is a great material for bathroom floors.

Composite Hardwood

Composite hardwood is ideal for bathroom floors because it looks stylish, but it doesn't require all the maintenance of a real hardwood floor. That is, all the moisture in a bathroom makes real hardwood an impractical choice. That is, you would need to refinish a wood floor in bathroom frequently to protect it from moisture. This is not anything you need to worry about when it comes to composite wood floors.

It's important to realize that composite wood floors are made out of wood, but only a portion of the plank is actually real wood. The majority of the plank is made out of plywood and composite wood that are glued together. In fact, the top layer that looks like hardwood is actually just printed. This is surprising to some people, if only because these prints look so realistic. Of course, if you take a closer look, you will probably realize that the finish is printed, and not authentic wood. However, some people can't even tell the difference, and they never look close enough to figure it out. Regardless, it is a great alternative, especially if you don't want to deal with maintenance.

DIY Installation

Composite floors are also popular for DIYers because they have a modular design. Hardwood floor installation, when you have a modular product is surprisingly simple. You need to use minimal power tools because the pieces can actually be attached to each other with just a rubber mallet. In the end, installing hardwood composite hardwood floor in your bathroom is always going to be a great decision that you won't regret.

Stepping into Greenhouse Gardening

My name is Michelle Landon. When I was a little girl, I loved helping my mother and grandmother in the garden. My passion for gardening grew, and in my adult years, it became my number one hobby. I have lived in apartments and mastered the art of having container gardens. I now have over an acre of land and can grow just about anything. My dream was to one day have a greenhouse and be able to grow all the flowers my heart desired. Six years ago I got my first small greenhouse and was able to start bringing my gardening dream to fruition. Today I have two greenhouses and working in them is even better than I imagined. I would like to share my greenhouse gardening experiences with you.
